Fin & Tube Design
Balance air-side heat transfer, pressure drop and the operating environment.
Geometry
Fin pitch, height and surface geometry affect air-side flow and surface area. The tube arrangement and core depth also influence the path that air follows through the exchanger.
Airflow constraints
The fan and system resistance must be considered together. Increasing core resistance can change actual airflow, so comparisons should use realistic fan conditions.
Wet, frosted or dirty coils
A geometry chosen for clean, dry operation may behave differently when wet, frosted or fouled. Consider drainage, cleaning access and the intended environment.
Specification inputs
Provide the available fan pressure, face area, airflow and environmental conditions. Ask for a drawing and performance evidence for the proposed configuration.
