Microchannel Heat Exchangers for HVAC & Chillers
Air-side heat rejection selection for air-conditioning and chiller assemblies.
Application requirements
In an air-cooled HVAC or chiller system, the condenser must reject the cooling load plus compressor input. Coil selection therefore starts with heat rejection rather than a catalogue cooling capacity. Fan performance, recirculation and clearance around the installed coil affect the actual air-side conditions.
Define the thermal duty
Provide the normal design point and the difficult operating cases, including the ambient range and load variation. State how the duty was calculated and which conditions are fixed. This allows the component enquiry to reflect the intended system rather than a single nominal rating.
Information for selection
- Heat rejection across full and part load
- Refrigerant and condensing temperature
- Ambient temperature, altitude and airflow
- Core arrangement, service access and mounting

Installation & operating considerations
Identify air or fluid distribution, orientation, access for cleaning and inspection, and the permitted pressure drop. Specify the environment, including coastal or industrial exposure where relevant. Confirm connections and tolerances against the equipment drawing.
Product qualification
Refrigerant suitability, operating limits and test conditions must be confirmed for the selected component. References to an application do not certify every catalogue product for it.
Agree a sample and validation plan before series supply. Separate the component’s acceptance criteria from system-level performance and regulatory requirements.
Buyer questions
Which component should I request?
Identify the circuit role, working fluids and heat-transfer duty. Include a system sketch if the component boundaries are unclear.
Does this page confirm a refrigerant or platform approval?
No. Ask for written confirmation of the proposed component and its qualification requirements.
What should accompany the RFQ?
Heat rejection across full and part load, Refrigerant and condensing temperature, Ambient temperature, altitude and airflow, Core arrangement, service access and mounting, a drawing and quantity.
