R32 vs R410A in Heat Pump Systems
Identify the refrigerant-specific operating data and component confirmation needed when comparing R32 and R410A heat pump enquiries.
Refrigerants
Different refrigerants require a system review
R32 and R410A should not be treated as interchangeable labels on the same component. Relevant fluid properties, circuit conditions and safety requirements need review by the system designer.
Compare at the intended conditions
For a heat exchanger enquiry, state the refrigerant and the intended condensing or evaporating conditions. Request data for that fluid and operating point. A rating for another refrigerant does not confirm equivalent performance.
Confirm model-specific limits
Material, joint design, pressure rating and connections must be assessed for the proposed part. Refrigerant safety classification also belongs in the broader equipment and installation review.
Avoid replacement assumptions
Do not use a supplier’s image, catalogue family or general article as approval for changing a refrigerant. Request written component confirmation and a suitable system validation plan before purchase or modification.
Technical references
General technical references; they do not certify BKF products.
