R290 Heat Pump Heat Exchanger Design Considerations
Prepare R290 heat exchanger enquiries with thermal duty, mechanical limits and system review requirements. Confirm suitability for the exact part.
Refrigerants
Identify the refrigerant and application
R290 is classified as A3 in refrigerant safety classifications. Component selection belongs within a qualified system-design review; the refrigerant name alone does not establish component suitability.
Separate thermal and mechanical requirements
Provide operating conditions, design limits, charge objectives and connection requirements. Ask for written confirmation for the proposed model. A pressure requirement and a thermal-duty requirement answer different questions.
Review the whole circuit
Reducing exchanger internal volume does not by itself determine total system charge or satisfy application safety requirements. Piping, other components, installation and control choices remain part of the system review.
Prepare a supplier enquiry
Include the intended equipment type, applicable requirements and validation plan. Ask the supplier to identify the evidence for the selected part. BKF refrigerant compatibility must be confirmed in the quotation; this article does not establish an R290-approved product.
Technical references
General technical references; they do not certify BKF products.
