How to Specify a Condenser for a Cooling System
Specify heat rejection, installed airflow and mechanical interfaces before comparing condenser quotations for a cooling system.
Selection Guides
Specify the correct duty
A condenser rejects heat from the refrigerant circuit. State heat rejection at the intended operating point rather than only the equipment cooling capacity. Include how the value was calculated.
Match the air-side installation
Entering-air temperature, airflow, fan pressure and clearance affect the installed duty. Show the enclosure and consider whether warm discharge air can return to the inlet.
Define interfaces
Provide core envelope, ports, mounts and connection requirements. Identify the refrigerant and relevant pressure and temperature conditions. Request model-specific confirmation.
Review the quote
Compare the proposed drawing and performance basis with your requirement. Agree samples, inspection, quantity and delivery terms. Use the microchannel-specific guide when that construction is required.
